Scary

I bought this CD because there is a track by Liquid Bloom on another compilation that I very much enjoy. This one, though, sounded very scary and disturbing to me. The combination of shamanic rhythms with Sanskrit shlokas chanted in a very low tone is disturbing. I don’t know about the science behind theta waves and such, but I know how my system responded to these sounds – with tension and anxiety. It may work for some people, but this is definitely not the kind of soothing, relaxing music I expected. Also, Hindu belief is that not all shlokas are for everybody. Without proper initiation and preparation, exposure to these sounds may be harmful. Apparently, some of the shlokas chanted here are of that nature.

One of the best downtempo/yoga CDs I’ve ever owned

Absolutely LOVE the mysticism that surrounds the compositions on this CD. Very deep, introspective, and simply beautiful. The chanting, vocals, and ethnic wind instruments used throughout the CD will simply send shivers up and down your spine. Wish I could say the same for some more music I’ve heard — this one is truly a GEM!

Spectacular new age music

I’ve been playing this music since 2006 when I first got it. It is so awesome for relaxing. I sleep with it on often. You won’t be disappointed. I have also practiced chi kung with this album.
